USEFUL INFO
Tickets: £14ish
Two years ago paying £14 for a cinema ticket was expensive, however with huge chains making you pay up to £15 for an old and uncomfortable seat, TSL finds Everyman Cinemas a luxurious steal. Of its five London locations, the one in Maida Vale is a particular favourite with the bar area perfect for grabbing food and drink beforehand. Screen on the Green in Angel has the cosy feel of a theatre thanks to its history of live performances while Belsize is the more modern one and Hampsteadthe classic. Last but not least is Everyman Baker Street, conveniently located for your central London cinema fix.
Whether it’s with friends, a date or alone (yes TSL love doing the latter – a perfect way to escape from the world) these superbly comfortable sofas, intimate screenings and great films mean that Everyman should become everyone’s local.
Things to watch out for are the Q&As by industry experts, live gigs and satellite feeds from The National Theatre and Met Opera, late night cult classics and their Sunday matinee classics. They’ve also started doing pop-up screening events in the Old Vic Tunnels.
